The Lexington
High School Honors Orchestra meets four days per week and is open
to any string player by audition or with special permission from the
conductor. The orchestra studies and performs a wide variety of music
from baroque to popular. Orchestra members are expected to perform
the music to the best of their ability. Students will play alone,
in pairs, and form small ensembles for evaluations. Private study
is expected.
Concert attendance is
mandatory for orchestra members. On-time class attendance is critical.
Orchestra grades reflect how a student uses his or her abilities in
daily class participation, individual improvement and concert attendance.
