Orchestra
Each year a number of advanced players from the 7/8 Band will be selected by the Band Directors or by audition to play once a week in Orchestra which meets at the same time as Band. Information will be available at the beginning of school.

Instrumental Lessons
It is strongly recommended that all students take private lessons while they are a member of the middle school bands. Nothing can compare with a regular lesson in helping the student improve their abilities and enjoy band. The vast majority of students continuing in the middle and high schools are currently studying with private teachers and High School tutors. It is not possible to adequately address the intricate technical development of each student during the context of the 50 minute middle s ˙chool band rehearsal which ranges from 60 - 100 players. There is a list available at each rehearsal that details the after school private lesson program at the High School. The faculty is drawn from the finest professional private teachers in the Boston area. Parents are encouraged to contact any private teacher to reserve a lesson day and time as soon as possible. If you need assistance in locating an appropriate teacher please contact your band director.

Communication
Mr. Riley and Mr. Samour divide their teaching time among eight schools in Lexington. The most efficient form of communication is to use email to sch.ci.lexington.ma.us (User names are DSAMOUR or DRILEY) or leave a message in the appropriate mailbox at either Clarke or Diamond. Your inquiry will be returned as soon as possible.

High School Concerts
Middle school students are encouraged to attend concerts that occur at the High School for their own enjoyment and to get a glimpse of what they have to look forward to. Most of the High School concerts are free and those with small admission fees for adults are free to school-age people. (Calendar)
