Junior District Chorus is a chance to sing with the best middle and high school students in the area. It is hard work, but very exciting and rewarding. It is open to girls and boys in 7th and 8th grades, and boys only in 6th. Please DO NOT audition unless you know you can make all rehearsals as well as the concert.
  Auditions: Saturday, January 31, 2009

  Rehearsal Dates: Wednesday, March 18 (3:00-7:30) @ Lowell HS
Friday, March 20 (3:00-7:30) @ Lowell HS
  Concert Date: Saturday, March 21 (8:00 a.m.– students return with parents) [Concert snow date: Sunday, March 22]
 
Open to any student in chorus, band, or orchestra, by audition only. Possible special permission at conductor's discretion. Meets every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 in music room. Rehearsals are mandatory. May schedule additional rehearsals from time to time in preparation for events.
 
This is an 8th-grade elective which performs in all concerts, as well as selected performances . It is a full-year class which meets twice weekly. Students may join for both semesters if desired.
 
Clarke Concert Schedule and Dress
Each concert in which your child will sing during the 2008-2009 school year will be the result of many weeks of hard work and preparation. Please post your concert calendar and plan to attend these concerts with your child and your family. The memories of your supportive presence will stay with your child long after the words and the melodies have been forgotten.
 
6th grade Fall Concert Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 7:00pm;
students arrive by 6:20 pm;
Middle Cs arrive 5:45pm
  Spring Concert Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 7:30 pm;
students report at 6:45 pm;
Middle Cs arrive 6:15 pm
7th/8th and select chorus, Girls' Ensemble Fall Concert Wednesday, November 13, 2008 at 7:30pm; students report at 6:40 pm;
JCGC arrives at 6:10 pm
  Spring Concert Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 7:30 pm;
students report at 6:40 pm;

Concert Dress
are expected to wear black skirts which come to the knee, or black slacks, a white top, and black shoes.
should wear black dress slacks (not jeans), a white dress shirt, dark tie, and dark dress shoes and black socks
Students who arrive in other-than-concert attire risk participation, depending on what they have on. Inappropriate attire will affect their concert grade.
 
Extra Credit Opportunity
Students may attend a concert of a more experienced CHORAL group to supplement quizzes or written exam grades. This opportunity may NOT supplement participation or concert grades. If interested, contact conductor.
 
Contract
