Procedure for sending applications and records to colleges
In order to insure that each student’s applications are processed effectively, and efficiently, students should follow these guidelines:
1 Student has conference with counselor to discuss possible applications.
2 Student writes for and receives the necessary applications.
3 Student completes all required information on application and mails student's sections to the college/universities. There are a few institutions that require students to forward all materials through the high school. Students comply with this request by bringing the entire application package to the Registrar’s Office.
4 Student obtains a Transcript Request Form from the Registrar’s Office.
5 Student fills out Transcript Request Form, signs and obtains parent’s signature on the form
6 Student brings signed form, Secondary School Report form from application and large addressed stamped (first-class postage) envelope (6x9) along with a check/cash for the appropriate fee per transcript request to the Registrar.
7 After all the above steps are completed, the Registrar will mail the Secondary School Report Form, along with your transcript, level explanation sheet and the school profile to the college/university.
8 Students should also be aware that some schools require a mid-year update of grades. If this mid-year Report Form is included in the application papers, it should be brought to the Registrar. If there is no form, the student should inform the Registrar, in writing, that a mid-year update is required.
It is the responsibility of each student to be familiar with the above steps and to follow them. Bring in those forms that need to be processed by the Registrar as early as possible during the fall of your senior year. The earlier you bring in the material to the Registrar’s Office, the earlier it will be processed.
Students should also be aware that college deadlines often refer to the colleges’ receiving the student's portion of the application by their deadline. Remember: A deadline is the latest date you can file an application; nothing prevents you from filing an application early.
