Financial Aid: Sources and Programs
Merit Scholarships
At the most selective colleges almost the entire applicant pool is comprised of students who have excellent grades, high test scores, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Such institutions grant money on the basis of demonstrated need. This is the case at many other colleges, but an increasing number of colleges are awarding scholarships on the basis of academic achievement or “merit.”

Lexington Local Scholarship Information
Lexington is fortunate to have a reserve of scholarship money in the localLexington Scholarship Program. Every year many scholarships are available to Lexington’s youth. They include awards that are based on financial need as well as ones that are based on specific qualifications such as outstanding scholarship or contribution to the community. A list of these scholarship opportunities will be mailed to every senior parent by mid-February. Applications and directions for submitting applications will be available in the Career Center. Students may apply for an unlimited number of scholarships provided they meet the criteria set forth. In the spring there will be over $90,000 in local scholarships available to students.
