| Merit Scholarships |
| At the most selective
colleges almost the entire applicant pool is comprised of students
who have excellent grades, high test scores, and involvement in extracurricular
activities. Such institutions grant money on the basis of demonstrated
need. This is the case at many other colleges, but an increasing number
of colleges are awarding scholarships on the basis of academic achievement
or merit. |
