| Starting dates for the fall 2009 sports season are as follows: FOOTBALL Monday, August 24th. All other fall LHS and MS sports begin Thursday, August 27th. Sign ups for LHS fall sports will be on Thursday, June 4th at 3:00 PM in the gymnasium. At this sign up meeting pertinent information from head coaches will be handed out to all candidates. Middle school 8th graders will meet after June 4th with LHS coaches at their schools and are to listen to announcements for specific dates and times. |

| The Lexington High School boys basketball team has been selected to receive the 2009 Sportsmanship Alliance of Massachusetts (SAM) Basketball Award. A special on-court presentation of this award will take place at halftime of the March 29th Boston Celtics game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. During this presentation, the Lexington boys team and coaches will receive an honor plaque from members of SAM and the Celtics organization. Coached by Donna Cerrato and Corrie Donato our swim team has won this award for the second year in a row and the Middlesex League for the 10th year in a row. Head Coach Bob Farias and Assistant Coaches Tom Brinklow, Zach Smith, and Mike Allen are deserving of this award for what they teach our youg men about athletic competition.
