Bronx Tournament

In addition to the fantastic showing of the novices at Catholic Memorial, the varsity debaters had an incredible weekend at Bronx!
In LD, Jason Zhou was a semifinalist, earning his first 2007-2008 bid to the Tournament of Champions!
In policy, Hao Shen got 7th Speaker
Lexington Zendeh/Townzen - Win! Finals was 2-1 over Lakeland, earning their first bid to the TOC
Lexington Kumar/Raja - Slated to debate Lex ZT in semis so ZT advanced as the higher sead. They also got a bid to the TOC
Lexington Boxer/Srinivasan and Lexington Huang/Shen - Octafinalinalist

Monticello Tournament

What a great weekend in Monticello!
Public forum swept through the competition in the PFD round robin.
1st place - Noah KK and Nate
2nd place - Kelly and Miriam
3rd place - Tim and Ajinkya
4th place - David and Mina
Speaker awards were also given - 5th to Ajinkya, 3rd to Miriam, 2nd to Kelly and 1st to Noah. Wow!
In LD Noah A was in the quarters and 3rd speaker!
In policy Adit and James were in the quarters and Rachel was top speaker

The 2007 Massachusetts State Tournament was held at Manchester-Essex High School on March 31. Lexington won the tournament for the 32nd consecutive year.

In Varsity Policy, Rachel Logan and Naomi Logan won the tournament.
Jeffrey Boxer and Apoorv Kumar placed second.
There were numerous speaker awards.

In Novice Policy, Amrit Kanesa-Thasan and James Zhang placed second.
Peter Wang and Jack Curtis were fourth.
Also many speaker awards!

What a great weekend for Lexington!
March 4, 2007: The policy debate team attended the Lakeland tournament in Shrub Oak, New York this weekend.

Naomi Logan and Tom Burnett were varsity champions!
Adit Chipalkatti and Ram Jayakumar were junior varsity champions!

Overall, Lexington had six of the top sixteen teams in the varsity competition.

Noha Ahmed and Rebecca Ukaegbu (novice octafinalists)

February 5, 2007: The Policy Debate Team attended a tournament in Newark, NJ this last weekend and had an outstanding finish!

1st place champions - Jack Mizerak and Hao Shen
3rd place - Stas Moroz and Apoorv Kumar
5th place - Jenna Lempesis and David Sterman
9th place - Alex Teng and John Mei (Teng was also 10th place individual, Mei was 12th place individual)

Yes, that's right - out of more than 100 teams, Lexington had 4 of the top ten policy finishers!
