Introduction:
You will be asked to read the Italian translation of Hans Christian Andersen's fable The Emporer's New Clothes from my website http://home.comcast.net/~d_shad84/LHSShad/ . You probably know the story but by reading the Italian translation, you will be asked to learn new vocabulary and understand the story with it. The URL above also has resources for the writing of this project such as dictionaries and verb tense sites.
Task:
Put all of your answers in the blue examination booklets that have been provided to you unless otherwise specified. You will read I vestiti nuovi dell'imperatore in its entirety to get a feel for the story. You will then return to it carefully reading each page. Once you have read a page, you will make up a vocabulary list (with definitions and translations). Write original sentences for each of the words in the list. You will then answer questions based on the story. During this activity, you will write your own questions about the story and then orally ask a classmate to answer them. To evaluate your writing skills, you will write a summary of the plot of the fable. The concluding activity will be for you to make up a timeline based upon the author of the fable, Hans Christian Andersen.
