About the PTSA
The Lexington High School (LHS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) has two primary
purposes:
- To enhance the education and welfare of LHS students.
- To foster communication throughout the LHS community.
To accomplish these goals, the PTSA
- Provides grants to teachers for projects and materials not funded in the regular school budget.
- Facilitates the election of parents to the LHS Council, whose charter is to provide long range planning for LHS.
- Publishes a monthly newsletter.
- Hosts monthly forums on a topic of importance to LHS parents.
- Publishes an annual directory of LHS students.
- Disseminates information via an electronic mailing list to which anyone with
internet access can subscribe.
- Participates in the town wide PTA Council, whose purpose is to strengthen each PTA in Lexington by providing a
unified voice on issues that affect all Lexington schools.
- Makes a substantial contribution to the all-night graduation party.
- Coordinates parent volunteers in the LHS library.
The LHS PTSA does no fund raising. Its activities are funded
by membership fee.
