COURSE EXPECTATIONS, POLICIES, PROCEDURES

 

·        CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR

o       Students and Teachers are expected to RESPECT

§         Each other

·        Come to class on time and prepared to learn

·        Raise your hand before you speak

·        Ask the teacher before you leave the room & be honest about where you are going

§         Property

·        Keep the classroom clean

·        Don’t take something if it is not yours

o       Possible Consequences

§        Speak with teacher after class/school

§        Detention with teacher before/after school

§        Call home to student’s parent/guardian

§        Conference with Dean

 

·        GRADING

o       55%    Tests (30%) and Quizzes (25%)

o       20%    Homework

o       15%     Project

o       10%    Journal

 

·        ABSENCES/MAKE-UP WORK

o       When a student has an excused absence the student has the same number of days to make up missed assessments and assignments as days the student is absent.  If the student does not make up any missed work in a timely manner, their grade will automatically turn into a zero

o       Any missed assignments or material can be obtained by e-mailing the teacher or another student, calling another student in the class, asking the teacher the very day the student returns (before or after school), or checking the website.

 

·        HOMEWORK

o       Students will have homework assignments almost every night.  Homework will be due the next day.  Completed homework will receive 2 points, attempted homework (poorly completed homework) will receive 1 point, no homework will receive 0 points.  (Students are still expected to complete their homework even if it is not posted on the website.)

 

·        FOOD

o       Food will not be allowed in the classroom unless it is used for the purposes of the lesson.
