Proposed Syllabus leading up to Vacation

Given the difficulties with the optimization problem on the quiz
and the upcoming problem set, here is a proposed syllabus for
the next two weeks:

12/07   Related Rates Day 3   HW p.239-241/25, 33-40
          also, an AP Related Rates problem for rubric practice

12/08   Review AP problem, start Linearization
          HW problems in handout

12/11   More with Linearization (Estimation vs Error)
          CW 1-7 in new handout  HW finish new handout
          also, the extra Optimization Quiz problem must be done

12/12   Review Chapter 4 (and collect Opt Problem)

12/14   Area activity (as intro to Ch 5), return 4.1-4.4 quizzes

12/15   Work on Problem Set #2

12/18   Ch 4 Test

12/19   more with definite integrals
12/21   more with definite integrals

12/22   Problem Set #2 due, presentations of roofproofing models

Quiz and Related Rates

We will be looking at Related Rates - a form of implicit differentiation
where everything depends on time.
