Starting Chapter 6

Much of Chapter 6 deals with amassing skills to find integrals. As we learn the skills we will have several short quizzes to make sure you are keeping up.  They will start on Friday the 11th and continue every day or two.  There will be about 6 quizzes and each one will have about 3 problems.  If you miss one or fail one there will be one general makeup quiz.  These are all about skills (rather than conceptual understanding).

Topics (not in order):
             General Antidifferentiation
Integration by Substitution (undo the Chain Rule)
Integration by Parts (undo the Product Rule)
             Partial Fraction Decomposition
             Separation of Variables

We started with Fun Integrals and a table of Indefinite Integrals
to help get organized.  Finish the packet for homework.

Return, review, then test

Welcome back! Hopefully you have retained what you knew about the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. On Friday the 4th we review, on Monday the 7th we have the Chapter 5 test.

Remember that Friday is the last day to do the extra problems if you are unhappy with your Chapter 4 test grade.

Also remember that Problem Set #2 is due on Tuesday January 15th (even if we don't have class!). They will be sorted and passed out for you to grade on the 16th. The term closes on the 18th so tardiness is strongly discouraged.
