Counting and Probability

We are going to do a two-week unit on probability.  The first week will be spent practicing ways of counting options.

4/27  Multiplication Principle and Factorial
4/29  Permutations and Combinations
4/30  More options with permutations and combinations
5/01  Quiz on Counting

Radians

This week before vacation will be spent studying radians, the "metric" way to measure angles.

4/13  Define radians, convert between degrees and radians
4/15  Radians and the unit circle, trig with radians
4/16  Advantages of radians: arc length and sector area
4/17  Quiz of radian skills, sinusoids in radian mode

Sinusoids

Now we are getting to application problems using periodic functions. For the whole packet (a 3 day undertaking) we will read the question, graph the data, find the period, amplitude, and midline, create the equation of the function and answer questions using the function.

Next week we will have a test on all of the trigonometry material so far: right triangle trig, law of sines, law of cosines, area, ferris wheels and sinusoids.  After this we will learn about radians - a metric way of measuring angles - with a quiz right before vacation.
