An application of matrices and matrix multiplication

We looked at food webs and other networks, a somewhat modern application of matrices. Finish the handout for homework. There is not going to be a problem set this week because it will take a few days before we get enough material to have 2-4 interesting problems.

Matrices

The introduction to Matrices included a great deal of information:
   the dimensions of a matrix (row by column)
   the transpose
   scalar multiplication
   adding/subtracting matrices
   annotating matrices so it is clear what information is stored there
   solving for variables in matrix equations

Next up: multiplying matrices, putting matrices in your calculator, applications of matrices.

I have uploaded the equation answer key for the word problem worksheet and a complete answer key for the second day of linear programming.  I couldn't get more of them done because they take forever to do the graphs on the computer.  Email me if you have questions.
