Minutes from Meeting: 11-3-04

I. Call to Order

Meeting is called to order at 7:53

II. Approval of Minutes

Motion Approved Motion by Chair to approve Minutes of last meeting

III. Approval of Agenda

Motion Approved Motion by Chair to approve Agenda

IV. Announcements

a. A new email list is being passed around and all

senators are asked to write down their email

addresses

b. The freshmen senators have just been invited to

join the senate listserv and in order to join, they

must follow the instructions on the email

c. Some committee chairs have been experiencing

low attendance rates and these chairs are encouraged

to report any unexcused committee absences to the

secretary so that she can record these absences on the

minutes

V. Committee Reports

Communications1. Working on improving community in school by

organizing various activities involving prizes

Ad-hoc 1. Discussed ways to get kids to clean up after

themselves

2. Will meet Friday mornings at 7:15 in Room 520

Climate 1. Did not meet last week due to the lackluster senate

photo

2. Still meets every Tuesday after school in the Drama

Room

VI. Open Comments

1. Senator Richardson encourages student senators to

run for president one day so that he will a have decent

candidate to vote for

2. Senator Lees says that it is a sad day when President

Bush is re-elected

3. Senator Harper can be found, if anyone comes

searching for him, in a parallel universe where the

phrases "George Bush" and "President-elect" never

come together; you will find him wandering around

and blissful
